Meet Nefeli, Certified Bachata Sensual Instructor in Dubai
I am a passionate Bachata instructor originally from Athens, Greece. My dance journey began at the age of 13 with International Latin. Over the years I worked systematically in Salsa, Kizomba, and Bachata, which is now my primary specialisation.
In 2017 I turned my passion into a profession, becoming the first certified Bachata Sensual instructor in Greece. I now teach in Dubai and travel internationally for classes, workshops, and performances. My focus is on helping each student achieve their personal dance goals, by adapting to the individual needs and desired transformation.

What is bachata sensual?
Bachata Sensual is a partner dance style created by Korke Escalona and Judith Cordero in Cadiz, Spain. It emphasizes flowing body waves, close partner connection, and musical interpretation through body movement. I love this style because of how it prioritizes musicality and fluid movement compared to Dominican or traditional bachata, which focus primarily on footwork.
Who are Korke and Judith?
Korke Escalona and Judith Cordero are the founders and creators of Bachata Sensual, the style that now dominates dance floors worldwide. Nefeli is certified directly by them, as well as by Alex and Desiree and Judith Cordero for lady styling, making her one of the few Dubai instructors with direct certification from the style's originators.
Do I need a partner to take bachata classes in Dubai?
No partner is needed. In group classes, partners rotate throughout the session so everyone practises with different people, and beginners are warmly welcomed to join alone. In private classes we dance together and I take both roles, so you get the full experience as either leader or follower. Private classes are also available for couples.
Do you teach both men and women?
Yes, I am trained as both a follower and a leader, and I take both roles in class.
Where are the bachata classes held in Dubai?
Classes are available across Dubai including JLT, Marina, Downtown, Business Bay, and JBR. For private sessions I can teach in a personal space, come to you with home visits, or we can book a studio together. Group classes, private sessions, and online classes are all on offer. Getting Started
Can I learn bachata online with Nefeli?
Yes. Live online bachata classes are available for students anywhere in the world, across any timezone. You get the same personal coaching and feedback as in-person sessions, just from the comfort of your own space.
What should I wear to class?
Comfortable clothes that let you move freely work best. For shoes, dance shoes with suede soles are ideal, or any smooth-soled shoes. I suggest avoiding rubber-soled shoes because they can stick to the floor and make turns difficult.
How long does it take to learn bachata?
Most of my students feel comfortable with basic steps after 4 to 6 weeks of regular classes. Becoming a confident social dancer typically takes 6 months to a year of consistent practice. Everyone learns at their own pace, and I will support you wherever you are on your journey.
Can I try a class before committing?
Your first session is a paid trial class. You then have the option to upgrade to a package.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Changes or cancellations must be made the day before the class. If cancelled on the day, the class will be credited, not refunded.
